You Wish!

Where to begin??

I guess we’ll start at the beginning. Frank (my super kind and sweet boyfriend) made it all possible. I was invited to be his guest on the transatlantic crossing! This means I got on the ship in Germany and rode it across the Atlantic to its new home in Port Canaveral! What a crazy adventure it was.

I flew to Amsterdam, via a connection in Dublin. I traveled with two checked bags, a carryon suitcase and a backpack. Yes, I am *that* extra. So as you can guess, it was suuuuper fun getting through the Amsterdam airport to my hotel for the night. If you've never been before, the Amsterdam airport is the size of the biggest mall you can imagine. That's just inside security. When you leave security and customs, it is twice the size.

Once I finally figured out how to get to my hotel, (which was one of the airport hotels so you'd think it would be easy) that's when I found out that the walk to the hotel was the longest walk I could have imagined and the complete opposite of what I wanted to do with that much luggage. Alone.

(This video is only a quarter of the walk because I forgot to start when I started my trek)

It was worth it though! Here's a tour of my perfect hotel room! After all the nonsense it took me to get there, I was sad I only got to spend one night. It was so nice!

The next day was the day!

We were being transported via buses to the port in Germany, just a mere 4 hours from the hotel. I found a spot on the bus and got comfortable. When we got to the port, I luckily did not have to transport my checked luggage and just had my carryon and backpack to deal with thank God. I went through all of the lines and all the processes and boarded the ship.

What a gorgeous gorgeous ship!

The ship was still under construction for the entirety of the two week cruise. Which you might think is a huge bummer, but really it was such a cool experience! Every day there were new things finished and new things being tested. Thats why we (the guests of those working) were on the ship at all! They needed people to test the experiences and everything onboard.

It was so incredible to be one of the first people in the Hyperspace Lounge the night it first opened

To be one of the first to experience a movie in the Wonderland theater when they were still finishing it up! (The Cheshire Cat disappears when the movie is playing and only reappears when the lights come on- such a fun detail!)

I got to see rehearsals for shows and watch as this beautiful ship got finished up.

One of the things that was especially nice for me, was that there was no urge to do anything and there was no fear of missing out. There was not a whole lot going on each day, so I had plenty of

time to relax and unwind. I found a favorite spot up on the pool deck to read each day, and I finished three books over the course of the cruise. That was my favorite part; having endless amounts of time to just sit and read and not feel guilty about it!

I started to get into a groove after the first day. I would get up whenever I wanted and I would relax and check out whatever new thing had been finished and I would read and eat ice cream.

Then every day around 4pm I would make my way back to the room and I would get ready for the night. I always stopped on my way to the room to check with the photographers and see which backdrops they had chosen for the night. Then I picked out my outfit to match and did my makeup and watched a marvel movie while I did these things. Then I would head out to get pictures!

Sometimes I was too early for pictures so I would go get more ice cream! I always got photos at all of the backdrops and caught up with the photographers. It was nice to have people to talk to while I waited for Frank to finish work.

Once he was finished he would join me for photos or we would go to dinner and get photos afterwards.

Then it was either time for drinks with friends because we had "Bonus Hour" (which I will explain in a future post) or it was time for bed. Then it would all start over again! What a fun and special time we had! This is just a very brief overview of my incredible experience. Stay tuned for more posts all about the crossing, the Wish, and my adventures in general!

Stay Sparkly my lovelies!
